Oculoplastic surgery is a specialized field of surgery
that involves surgery around the eyes including the eyelids,
the lacrimal (tear) system and disorders of the orbit such
as thyroid Graves disease. Oculoplastic surgeons first
complete a surgical residency in ophthalmology and then
complete an additional two years of subspecialized training
dealing only with the area around the eyes. Oculoplastic
surgeons focus exclusively on the eyelids and the area around the eyelids and because of this special focus; they are experts in eyelid surgery. A s an oculoplastic surgeon, Dr. Keyhani performs cosmetic eyelid surgery including the removal of excess
skin and fat from the upper and lower eyelids. He corrects drooping of the eyelids and face by performing both forehead and midface lifts and has extensive experience in the use of Botox® and collagen fillers to reduce or eliminate facial wrinkles. Dr. Keyhani also performs reconstructive oculoplastic surgery including the repair of eyelids that turn in (entropion) or turn out (ectropion), drooping eyelids (ptosis) and eyelids damaged by a tumor or trauma. In addition, Dr. Keyhani performs tear duct surgery to open blocked tear duct channels.
